The Only Oral Sex Guide You'll Need

This is the ultimate guide to pleasing your lover. We're going to start off with some tips that apply to all of us, regardless of gender or sexuality. Scroll a bit farther down to see our break-down for eating pussy or sucking dick (whichever applies to you).

General Tips

No matter who you are or what you're into, there is some general rule of thumb when it comes to pleasuring your lover with your lips.

Be Enthusiastic

Oftentimes, the difference between a bad oral sex experience and a good one is the excitement involved. If you're giving someone head and you're not really into it, then they can tell.

You have to be primal about it–Give it your all because it'll make the experience so much better for your partner.

Work on Saliva Output!

Humans are pretty cool. We create natural lubricant everywhere on our bodies. You already know about how our private parts know how to party, but our saliva is great lubricant, too.

I was lucky enough to be invited for an interview on Well+Good to talk about the importance of saliva output for oral sex. Here's an excerpt of what I shared during the interview:

"A dry mouth could tire out the giver quickly, which stops the fun sooner than expected. As a giver, I do think that it's important to give yourself a break sometimes. Use toys or your hands to stimulate your partner while you regroup. Flavored lube is also great! Using your lips can help a bunch, too. You don't need to involve your tongue or your saliva if you're just giving kisses or brushing your lips against your partner."

And for increasing saliva output overall? Here are some tips:

  1. Drink water! This is probably the most important tip. Soda really dries out your mouth so just stick to Earth's natural beverage.
  2. Avoid sugar. Gum is another saliva sponge. Well, sugary gum is. I'd recommend sugar-free gum whenever you're craving a chew.
  3. Rub your inner cheeks. Not those cheeks. Your upstairs cheeks. Use your tongue to massage the back corners of your mouth. Rub the upper left, upper right, lower left, and lower right of your inner cheeks. This should produce some saliva that your partner will definitely appreciate.
