What amounted to a three-hour search for a supposed missing body in Idaho’s Blackfoot River yesterday (8/20/2025) ended with EMT and fire rescuers pulling a life-size doll from the water.
Drones and divers were called to the spot, nearly sixteen miles from Soda Springs, after a call from a fisherman claiming to have seen a human body floating down the river. According to Caribou County Sheriff Adam Mabey, the doll appears to have been in the water for some time and was eventually caught while hung up on the riverbank on some debris.
Of course, this kind of a story would illicit its fair amount of comments across social media.
Not The First Time
Surely, this is not the first time a sex doll has been mistaken for a human body. A year ago in Nebraska, a funeral worker and colleague went to collect a corpse at an apartment, only to find a female sex doll on entering. To add further strangeness to this particular incident, one of those workers then went back to the place later, saying he was collecting the doll for the local sheriff as evidence. He was charged with burglary.
Further back, two years ago, a silicone sex doll was found by PA authorities after they were dispatched when a man and his son claimed to have found human remains inside a bag. The Tunkhannock Township Police noted the foot of the doll, which was first spotted by the man and his son, to call police, sported a very detailed and expensive French pedicure.
And earlier this year, in Rostock, Germany, homicide investigators, police drones, and fire engines were deployed over a supposed ‘body dump’ scene for five hours, only to find that the ‘corpse’ was a sex doll.
They Don’t Cum Cheap
Good sex dolls and body molds don’t come cheap these days. The who and why of these fake body dumps or even sex dolls left out in the open, unattended, are questions authorities have yet to answer. But it does seem the phenomenon is on the rise.
