The military has not always been the most welcoming place to members of the LGTBQIA+ community. In a CBS news article by Jessica Kegu, it was estimated that 35,801 people in the military were dismissed from service due to being homosexual, and 81% of those cases were denied honorable discharge.

This staggering statistic reflects the "Don't Ask Don’t Tell” policy enacted in 1993, where LGBTQIA+ members were encouraged to not talk about their sexuality. Prior to this policy, in 1916 there was a rule that made consensual sodomy a punishable offense, making gay military members even more marginalized.

During the “DADT” legislation, if someone was an open homosexual they would be banned from military service. It wasn’t until 2011, when this law became obsolete, and gay sex in the military became a more widely discussed conversation topic. This isn’t to say that gay sex was not common in the military before 2011, because it definitely was, but homophobia played a huge factor in its narrative.

Traveling Back to the Vietnam War

In the 1900’s gay sex in the military had to be discreet and tactful because the ramifications could be serious. Picture this: you’re a gay soldier in World War II, and you are surrounded by young men in the barracks. I don’t know what the generals expected, other than for you to go fuck wild on the guys in your squad. You’re away from home and facing possible death, having nasty raw sex in the trenches with a hot gay soldier is the least of your worries. Until it becomes a big worry when you’re found out.

Nonetheless, you try your best to keep those sultry sucking sessions quiet between you and Big Dick Johnny to avoid suspicion, it’s sexy and sad all at once. But this is life for you in the horny zone that is Vietnam, fighting a war that has more to do with small dick men having a size contest at the expense of your life than actual politics.

So yes, you’re gonna fuck Big Dick Johnny, and no you’re not going to feel bad about it as he cums in your tight little asshole. This is wartime gentlemen, we all need to be tough, hard, and tight to get by, at least that’s what our commander tells us.

Current Day Practices

Flashforward to current day, and gay sex looks a little different in the military. While there are still a bunch of guys ready to get naughty in the sheets, it is a little more dignified. It is still a hot buffet of muscled abs, chiseled jawlines, and well-hung men, but there are apps to make it so much easier for you to get an overseas hookup.

The holy grail is Grindr, which is a location based dating platform catering to the LGBTQIA+ community. Whether you’re looking for a one night stand or a late night sword fight, this app has been bringing penis’ together since 2009.

Same sex relationships are now allowed in the military, and someone cannot be banned from service due to sexual orientation. With that being said, it is time to make up for all the lost time that were denied for queer service members back in the day. Be anything you want to be, and say it with pride because there is no one else quite like you on this planet. If pussies are getting pounded by fat dicks in the military then scissoring and barebacking it are equally righteous endeavors. Get your fuck on, and do not give anyone the satisfaction of making you feel shameful about it.

There is a high volume of LGBTQIA+ veterans that report negative mental health as a result of being in the military. These veterans also face a disproportionate level of economic and housing insecurity compared to their heterosexual and cis gendered counterparts. Exemplifying the continued need to destigmatize being gay in the military, and social change needed for all to feel welcome in America's armed services.

Resources

LGBTQIA+ military personnel still face discrimination, however, there are resources available to make the transition from civilian to soldier a little easier. Groups like the Modern Military Association of America, DAV LGBTQ+ Veterans, and Fighting With Pride are advocate groups that specialize in providing essential services to community members.

If you or anyone you know is struggling with mental health issues as a result of being in active combat make sure to check out The Wounded Warrior Project and the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs to get the help you need.

Despite ongoing challenges, LGBTQIA+ service members continue to serve with honor and distinction, proving that diversity strengthens military efforts. Every soldier deserves to stand proud in uniform, and bust a load every now and again.
