XBIZ Expo Goes Hybrid

XBIZ Expo, self-described as “the premier business-to-business event exclusively for product manufacturers, retail buyers and the broader pleasure community” returns the beginning of next year (January 8-12 to be exact). But this year, the show for businesses that sell adult products, social interaction in this business space and a roll out of innovations all from will be presented slightly different.
Happening at LA’s Loews Hollywood Hotel, pleasure purveyors and those interested in same, will be able to showcase their wares per usual on the show’s floor, occupying booths or private suites which they pay well for. But equally, the adult novelty retailers and other folks in the business will also be able to interact virtually. This hybrid format ensures that everybody who is attending the XBIZ Expo—manufacturers, buyers, reviewers, press, etc.—can participate in the show.

The COVID-19 lockdown surely helped grow our modern sociability paradigm of being less social with one another…in person. The anonymity and convenience of web purchasing (with the general public never have to even leave their house to buy a vibrator or anal toys!), makers and buyers both are ever more comfortable with hybrid interaction models. And to pleasure product sellers, those numbers about online sales don’t lie.
With over 50% of global adult product sales happening presently via an online retailer, global sex toy market sales expected to nearly triple in less the upcoming decade, and E-commerce accounting for two-thirds of sexual wellness devices appearing on the market, businesses people who come to an event like the XBIX Expo can’t help but see the logic in hybrid interaction. Add to this the score of the businesses that might want to attend the XBIZ Expo being from any of the four corners of the globe, it seems only natural for XBIZ to offer attendance in the best, and most modern way, they can.
