My verdict
FapCap is a disappointing toy extension that I wouldn't really recommend to anyone right now. It's a piece of technology that attaches to the end of your fleshlight cases in order to match your strokes to what's happening on-screen. At least, that's what it's supposed to do. Most of the games that Fleshlight has released as of right now only use the FapCap to measure how fast you're stroking yourself. Essentially, it's a tool to play "Try not to cum" games. This is extremely disappointing and almost false advertising, as the promotional material promises a high-quality toy that will sync the actions on-screen to your stroking.
Pros
- It might have some potential, if Fleshlight allows for third-party videos and games.
- The extension was pretty lightweight.
Cons
- The FapCap doesn't allow you to adjust the suction on your Fleshlight.
- The content released at launch for this toy is very poor quality.
- The toy is overpriced, in my opinion.
Design
This small machine is decently designed. I'm not sure of any other way they could have done it. My big gripe about the design is that it forces you to use your Fleshlight with the cap screwed in all the way. This is because you have to screw on the FapCap. You could unscrew it a bit, but you might risk it falling off. I've attached a picture of it screwed on to a case. The button on the FapCap lets you sync it to your device via Bluetooth.
Experience
I did not have a good experience with this toy. First off, I had to use my Fleshlight with it screwed on all the way. I usually prefer to use it without the end cap, because I prefer as little suction as possible when I use my Fleshlights. I know that's a personal preference, though.
Moving past that, the FapCap content is absolutely not for me. It was definitely not what I was expecting, either. When I bought the device, I was ready to control a girl on my screen with my strokes. I was excited about it! However, Fleshlight's only released three models so far, and only one model actually does that (Katie, if you check the website then you'll be able to see them all). The rest of the models only had "Try not to cum" games available. It'd show you a meter with a safe zone and a danger zone, and your job was to stroke fast or slow enough to stay in that safe zone. These games aren't really my thing. If you like them, then more power to you.
Something I will note is that you are able to put your name before the game starts. You'll hear a voice sometimes telling you to go faster or slower, along with your name. That's a neat feature that I wish was incorporated better, because the model isn't saying it, it's just some female voice from outside of the scene.
When you lose the game, the virtual model just shames you for cumming too fast or not being able to keep up. Again, if it's your thing, then more power to you. I did appreciate how you were just able to get back into the game without losing your progress, though. And the games did enable you to skip scenes, or "levels".
But this still isn't what I signed up for. I wanted to be able to control the model with my stroking. And only one model actually did that. For $50, I expected all of them to be able to do that.
Even if all models actually did it, it wouldn't matter. The one model that had the feature was so poor quality, I almost laughed.
The game worked by moving the model whenever you stroked fast or slow, and it'd adjust to your stroke speed. The scenes and positions were pretty good, but stroking slowly only slowed down the video. Like, they literally just put the video at .75 speed. Same thing for stroking fast, too.
Materials and care
This device is NOT waterproof. Do NOT get it wet. I only got some lube on it during my session, so I just dried it with a paper towel.
This is a plastic device that runs on batteries. You're able to unscrew the powered part from the rest of the device to put the two AAA batteries inside.
Price
This toy retails for $49.95. I only got it because I was so curious to see how it'd work. I don't think it is worth it. I would not buy this toy if I were you. If you're really into SFMs and try not to cum games and the models shown on the FapCap website, then I guess it could be worth it? But definitely not for me. To everyone else who's curious but not totally convinced, maybe wait until this thing is half off. Even then, it's still a steep purchase and you might not find it to be completely worth it.
Packaging
I was honestly disappointed by the packaging. No fun artwork, no explanation as to how this thing works, nothing. At the very least, I was expecting a proper user manual. Fleshlight only included a "manual" that covers them legally. I didn't know how to connect this thing to Bluetooth when I first opened it. I thought it'd connect to my device's Bluetooth right away, but it only connects to your device via the Bluetooth menu on Fleshlight's website. The packaging and manual didn't even say that. Two AAA batteries are included and the device was inside bubble wrap.
Performance
This toy worked correctly. As much as I'm bashing it, it did do a good job of calibrating my strokes correctly. Some people on Reddit say that you can cheat the games by tapping it quickly or slowly, but I didn't try it. This toy performed well, and if Fleshlight allowed people to make custom games or videos for it, then I would think that it's a great extension.
