Review Disclosure: The products reviewed on ToyChats come from items we purchase ourselves and those sponsored by manufacturers. We do not accept paid reviews from brands, nor do we interfere with users’ genuine opinions of the products. Our sole concern is whether the reviews are authentic, trustworthy, and well-reasoned.

My verdict

It's disappointing that the Moany Dick arrived defective, as we aim to provide thorough, hands-on reviews of every product we evaluate. While the poorly sealed silicone-ABS joint could be attributed to a factory defect, the issues with the thin material and weak motor are far more concerning. These flaws are not isolated incidents but rather fundamental design oversights that compromise not only the toy’s comfort but its safety and functionality as well. As a result, the Moany Dick falls short of meeting even basic standards for usability and reliability. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product, as it was unable to be fully tested due to these critical issues. Given these significant shortcomings, I must rate the Cliterature Moany Dick a 0/10

Pros

Aesthetically pleasing packaging

Cons

Low quality seal
Thrusting motor struggles with resistance
Thin material around moving parts.
Defective build quality prevented testing

Disclaimer:

Unfortunately, we at Lechery Review were unable to conduct hands-on testing of this product due to safety concerns related to the quality of the unit we received. For this reason, the following review serves as a preliminary overview based on the information provided on the product page and a physical examination of its basic functionality. While we strive to deliver comprehensive, experience-based reviews, ensuring safety is our top priority. We hope this initial assessment provides valuable insights into what to expect from the product.

Design

What did you think of the look and feel of the product?

One of the most noticeable issues with this product is the poorly constructed seal where the silicone meets the ABS plastic base. Rather than a clean, seamless connection, the seal appears to be haphazardly assembled with excessive hot glue. This not only detracts from the product’s overall aesthetic but also raises concerns about its durability, safety, and hygiene. Over time, the weak seal could allow moisture or debris to seep into the internal components, potentially compromising the toy’s functionality and safety, or worse, the silicone sleeve could become dislodged, exposing the internal mechanisms while in use, putting the user at risk of injury.

Quality

Did it feel high-quality in your hands?

The telescopic motor also presents a couple of significant issues. First, it struggles with resistance, often stalling or freezing when met with even moderate pressure. When it comes to the design itself, the top part of the firm internals is relatively small compared to the larger moving section, which extends using an internal cylinder mechanism that punches forward out of the outer shell. The outer material around this area feels thin, making the movement of the motor uncomfortably noticeable when pressure is applied. For example, when simulating the sensation of tighter spaces like the anal cavity by gripping the shaft with your fingers, the mechanical motion inside becomes distinctly apparent.

Experience

How did it actually feel when you used it?

This toy was never used for safety reasons. The issues with the thin material over the telescopic motor, combined with the unstable thrusting mechanism, made it clear that attempting to use it could risk damage to the toy or injury to the user.

Performance

Did the product live up to your expectations during use?

While the product promises three motors, heating, and thrusting action, it failed before it ever reached testing. The thrusting motor stalled even when handled lightly, which raised too many red flags to move forward with real use.

Materials and care

Was it easy to clean and maintain?

Although the silicone is technically body-safe and IPX5 waterproof, the compromised construction makes those qualities meaningless. A poorly sealed joint invites moisture, debris, and bacteria, which could create hygiene and durability issues.

Packaging

What was the unboxing experience like?

The Cliterature Starter Pack arrived in a simple, discreet brown box, perfect for keeping things private. Inside, everything was safely cushioned with plenty of paper padding and bubble wrap, ensuring the collection stayed intact during transit. Each of the four toys in the collection was individually wrapped for extra protection. The product packaging for each toy is as clever as it is stylish, designed to look like a classic hardback book in a high-end collection. The titles are witty twists on well-known novels, transformed into Moany Dick, Pleasure Island, Anna Karenicum, and The Great Gaspy. Opening each “book” reveals the corresponding toy nestled in a black foam insert, complete with all its accessories and documentation, adding a touch of luxury to the unboxing experience.

Price

Was it worth the price?

Given the major construction issues, this toy is not worth its price at all at $154USD. A product that raises immediate safety concerns shouldn’t command a premium, no matter how clever the packaging.
