My verdict

The Pleasure Island Fingering Rose is a bold and creative take on dual stimulation, with intuitive controls, a waterproof build, and a playful design that makes it fun to experiment with suction and internal motion. It isn’t flawless; the finger joint can pinch, the lack of a true power button interrupts the flow, and the telescopic motor is a bit noisy, but it still delivers an enjoyable, versatile experience. Where it stumbles hardest is the price. At $150 USD, it sits far above identical toys on the market that cost $60 USD or less. The clever book-style packaging is charming, but not enough to justify a $90 premium. Unless you’re specifically collecting for novelty, it’s difficult to recommend at full price when more budget-friendly options perform just as well.

Pros

User-friendly controls
Lightweight bulb with excellent grip
Strong pulsations and targeted suction
Easy to clean and waterproof
Intuitive, versatile design

Cons

No dedicated power button (can disrupt flow)
Thin silicone at finger joint may pinch slightly
Telescopic motion is louder than expected

Design

What did you think of the look and feel of the product?

The Pleasure Island is a thoughtfully crafted device with impressively user-friendly controls. It uses just two buttons: one for powering on and controlling the telescopic motion, and another for activating external stimulation. However, the lack of a dedicated power button complicates switching between functions. Turning off the device to stop the finger’s motion requires restarting the unit and reselecting the external stimulation pattern, which disrupts the flow of use if focusing on one function.

The bulb’s lightweight yet big design makes it easy to grip during use, while the rhythmic suction from the rosebud creates an engaging sensory experience when fully sealed against the skin. On the downside, the internal stimulation finger’s dual-component structure leaves a thin silicone covering at the joint, leading to minor (not painful) pinching during tighter insertions. A flexible internal sleeve or added outer material could have improved this design aspect.

Quality

Did it feel high-quality in your hands?

Made from soft, body-safe silicone with ABS detailing, the toy feels sturdy and well-finished. The rosebud bulb is lightweight yet solid in hand, and the long stem makes it easy to maneuver. The only drawback is the thinner silicone covering at the finger’s joint, which can pinch slightly during tighter insertions.

Experience

How did it actually feel when you used it?

This rose bud stimulator offers strong yet balanced pulsations, ideal for clitoral and nipple stimulation, with a vacuum-like effect when the ring around the pad forms a seal. The internal finger delivers robust vibrations concentrated at its tip, but its telescopic motion produces noticeable noise (more down below). While effective, the joint’s minor pinch and the loudness of the telescopic mechanism detract slightly from the overall sensory experience.

With an average sound level of 62 dB, the device remains discreet enough for most environments, though the telescopic motion is louder than similar products (not by much). This may be a consideration for those seeking complete discretion.

Performance

Did the product live up to your expectations during use?

The Pleasure Island Rose generally delivers on its promises, with powerful external suction and reliable internal thrusting. It’s intuitive to control and easy to grip, but switching functions requires extra steps that can break the rhythm. Noise-wise, it averages 62 dB, fine for most situations, though the telescopic mechanism is noticeably louder than similar toys.

Materials and care

Was it easy to clean and maintain?

Crafted from body-safe silicone and IPX6 waterproof, it’s easy to clean and safe for shower play. A simple rinse with warm water and mild soap does the trick, though a soft-bristled toothbrush can help with thorough cleaning. As always, stick to water-based lubricants to keep the silicone in good shape.

Packaging

What was the unboxing experience like?

The Cliterature Starter Pack arrived in a simple, discreet brown box, perfect for keeping things private. Inside, everything was safely cushioned with plenty of paper padding and bubble wrap, ensuring the collection stayed intact during transit. Each of the four toys in the collection was individually wrapped for extra protection. The product packaging for each toy is as clever as it is stylish, designed to look like a classic hardback book in a high-end collection. The titles are witty twists on well-known novels, transformed into Moany Dick, Pleasure Island, Anna Karenicum, and The Great Gaspy. Opening each “book” reveals the corresponding toy nestled in a black foam insert, complete with all its accessories and documentation, adding a touch of luxury to the unboxing experience.

Price

Was it worth the price?

At a retail price of $150 USD, the Pleasure Island Rose lands on the high end of the spectrum. That’s a steep ask when identical rose toys with suction and telescopic finger features can be found on Amazon for $60 USD or less. While the Cliterature line does stand out with its clever “hardback book” packaging, the extra flair doesn’t fully justify the $90 price jump. The packaging is fun, stylish, and certainly adds novelty, but once the toy is out of the box, you’re left with performance that doesn’t exceed more affordable alternatives.

If presentation and collectability matter most to you, the Pleasure Island Rose might be worth it for the bookshelf aesthetic. But if you’re buying for function and value, there are plenty of toys that deliver the same sensations at a fraction of the cost. For me, it feels more like you’re paying for the packaging than for a truly elevated toy experience, and that makes it a tough recommendation.
