First off, I'll say I'm a Lelo stan from way back: They make great products that get the job done. And when I had the chance to review the SILA, I was stoked. While not perfect, this product does offer a number of advantages that makes me want to recommend it, especially to those who already have a Lelo toy and are looking for another.
Design
We can't discuss the Lelo SILA without talking about its design. When I saw it inside the box, I was impressed, even excited… until I held it in my hand. I immediately felt like its awkward shape and design would be a problem when it came down to actually using it. And I was right.
The SILA isn’t easy to hold, and its shape does make you think you might easily lose it in the sheets. However, I think there’s a pretty good reason for this, which makes me still want to recommend this product. Otherwise, it’s got Lelo’s signature silky silicone feel, pretty packaging, and strong vibrations. But more on that later...

Quality
As for quality, this company always provides, even with the products that aren't as great. I will say the SILA feels durable. It definitely doesn’t seem like it’ll fall to pieces, and you can tell this from both the soft silicone and the tough body that it'll last a good, long while.
My last Lelo product (a Sona) lasted almost ten years, which was fairly impressive for any toy, even the best of the best. So, I'll always recommend this brand, and the SILA does tick all the boxes when it comes to representing a good, Lelo product.

Experience
Now, on to the experience itself... While I knew what to expect from a Lelo product, I was uncomfortable when I tried to use this one. Its shape makes you feel like carpal tunnel is just over the horizon, and the placement of the buttons are awkward to say the least. It's easy to forget which side is your increase and which is your decrease, and I kept pressing the button to lower the intensity when I meant to chance up the pattern.
Still, I will say that it offered the signature Lelo moves, which, for me, include variety and intensity. There were a number of vibration patterns that, while I don't necessarily find them beneficial in some other brands, are great when using a Lelo product. And the sonic wave vibrations don't disappoint when it comes to power.

Performance
If you asked me, "Did this vibe live up to your expectations?" I would've told you no at first. As a Lelo lover, I was bummed about the awkward shape and misplaced buttons, especially when comparing it to my go-to Sona. However... the intensity surely saved me. The last pattern was so teeth-rattlingly powerful, it had me jumping up from the bed in surprise! Trust me — if you're a fan of powerful, rumbly vibration, you will NOT be disappointed.
The product's performance ultimately sold me on its design. Though not comfortable to hold, I was able to overlook the shape of the SILA because I assume its round body is what's keeping the powerful motor cozy. And that's all fine by me!

Materials and care
When it comes to the care and keeping of your vibe, you really can't beat Lelo. Their silicone is so soft and silky, and my Sona was still feeling perky after nine years of use. However, I hated having to get into mouth of the device, which could be very hard to clean thoroughly. The SILA's mouth, on the other hand, is wider, which can make placing it on the clit a bit tricky but creates a world of difference during cleaning.
The SILA also works well with water-based lube and offers a waterproof surface. Keep in mind, though, this doesn't mean it's submersible, as the SILA has a plug-in charger rather than a magnetic one. Personally, I find magnetic chargers finicky and am willing to put up with a loss of submergibility to have a charging cord that stays put.

Packaging
There's nothing to dislike about the Lelo packaging. It always feels premium and luxurious, and it has tons of instructions, which makes you feel empowered to use the product from the jump. I will say I was disappointed when the lube it came with was already expired, but that didn't ruin the experience for me.

Price
The SILA retails on the Lelo website for $179, which is pricey, but there are sites when you can find it on sale. In addition, Lelo usually does its own sales. And I will say, though the vibe is expensive, it's hard to find anything small and rechargeable with the power this sonic wave vibe packs. I say, why not treat yourself?
