Design & Feel - This is a hefty piece of equipment.
If you have been anywhere around an adult cam website in the last few years you will surely recognise the little pink toy in pretty much every performers chatroom, what you might not know is that Lovense, the company that makes these little ubiquitous vibrators also has a line of toys designed for males, including the Lovense Solace Pro, the latest high-end automatic stroker in their range, and the upgrade version of the original Solace.
Material Quality
There are three separate areas to discuss here:
The main body of the Solace Pro which contains the motor: This is the heaviest component of the solace weighing in at 760 grams. It has a painted metallic finish that wraps over an inner black plastic housing. This component is also where you will find the buttons and mounting points for the sleeve. All in all it feels solid. I did notice some small scratches appearing through the silver coating, unfortunately it can be damaged is uncared for.
The second component is the sleeve itself constructed out of black plastic coming in at 475 grams. While I understand the reasoning behind trimming out weight where possible, I did find the plastic of the housing a little brittle feeling. Its not going to break, but its not the same kind of calibre that you find in other manual strokers.
The sleeve itself. It does not match the anatomical details of other strokers, but its also not trying to. there is a vague sculpt that includes the clitoris and labia majora, but its so discrete that it might as well have not been there at all. The material is otherwise nice and soft with a nice springiness to it.
In hand
Lets not beat around the bush here, the Solace Pro is big, heavy and realistically needs to be mounted in place (clearly the intended method of use) for the most enjoyment. The weight of the unit comes in at 1,230grams / 2,71 pounds and unfortunately is the Solace Pro's major drawback. That being said, the design of the unit does somewhat lend itself to being used unmounted - if awkwardly, helped by the small recess along the top of the unit which I found was an ergonomic location for my thumb to sit. This thumb slot helped me maintain my grip on an otherwise awkward to hold unit. When hand held though the buttons were not really accessible so I defaulted to controlling the unit via the app.
Mounting brackets
The included mounting brackets are made of an alloy steel and are of a high quality, with rubber pads to help hold the brackets in place and reduce damage to tables when mounted.
Buttons and controls
Along the length of the toy sit a number of buttons which when the unit is mounted, are easily accessed and pushed.
Overall the Solace Pro is a decent bit of kit, its chunky, weighty, and comes with an included sturdy aluminium mount for hands free play. The overall feel of the shell is premium with metallic paint, substantial feeling plastic and tactile and well though out button locations, commensurate with the high cost of the unit.

Experience - Overall pretty bloody good
As a whole I was pretty impressed with the Lovense Solace Pro. It feels generally well made and sturdy with a decently stimulating sleeve. While there were some caveats that I will get into below, overall I found the experience is definitely worth your time, and more importantly, your money.
Setup - Mount me like the bad girl I am!
Included in the box is an alloy steel bracket that fixes to pretty much any sturdy surface so long as you can get the brackets tight enough. I found there was a tiny bit of movement when mounted to my desk as there is a slight chamfer to the underside so ideally it is best fixed to a table with a square edge. The bracket fared much better when mounted to my dining table for the video further down in this review.
The components all screw tougher nicely with a firm hold with the grooves in the bracket holding it firmly in place so that the unit does not fall during operation. On the underside of the Solace itself sits a removable soft plastic cover for an integrated notch that takes a small plug on the mount and a recessed thread for a screw. From there you can adjust the final location and fix it into place.
Sleeve Feel - Milk me mommy...
What a sleeve...I was impressed! It doesn't wow you with multiple chambers but the varying internal textures provide sufficient detail to stimulate to orgasm. The best way to describe the feel is that it is more like a firm-ish hand job rather than what you may expect from vaginal penetration or blow job type feel. I think this is down to the size of the nubs in the central portion of the sleeve which almost hug the penis as the sleeve moves up and down the shaft. It's different to most of the other sleeves I've tried and honestly I enjoyed the change.
The rest of the sleeve did its job, but was otherwise not really noteworthy, the base griped the shaft but didn't really add much, while again the nubs at the end of the sleeve, which did help achieve climax, were not the focus of the stimulation.
The single entry design of the sleeve (unlike other masturbators) did not allow for any change in the level of suction, in this regard the sleeve is a little behind other manufacturers with control limited to the stroke speed only. It feels great don't get me wrong, and it develops enough suction through use to feel realistic however I would have appreciated the ability to tweak it slightly, you don't always want a firm hand job, occasionally a sloppy blowjob feel is preferred - you know what I mean?
Now one thing I didn't like with its use was using lube. Its essential for use but the nature of this toys use when seated means you need to angle the Solace downward, this unfortunately means that there can be some leakage between the time it takes you to to screw the mount tight and insertion. Not a deal breaker by any means, its just annoying to have drops of lube dripping out of the orifice while your getting it ready.
While it may sound like there are more negatives than positives, I assure you that this isn't the case. It just a completely different feel to any other automatic stroker that I have tried, and while some sections of the sleeve on their own don't offer much stimulation, when considered as a whole, its actually very good.

Controls: Physical buttons
Thankfully while the Soalce Pro is aided by the use of apps there is sufficient customization on the unit itself using them is not required and controls are intuitive and easy to understand.
There are a total of 6 buttons along the side of the unit including the power button which is located at the bottom. Above this you have two pairs of buttons that control the thrust depth (in 4 levels) and the stroke speed (in 8 levels), there is also a single button that cycles through 4 pre-set patterns. I found that when mounted these buttons were easy to press and I could change the function without getting distracted.
When used without the mount this was fair bit trickier. As noted above there is a recess in the silver portion that aids in handling, but it is almost impossible to modify the settings when it is not fixed in place. To easily modify the settings you are limited to the app when using this handheld.

Controls: Apps
On the app side Lovense really knows what they are doing. Yes there are some bugs, and the AI syncing doesn't always match 100%, but overall the level of customizability is really endless when combined with the Lovense remote app or the VibMateX app. The Solace Pro can also sync up with the Lovense Mission 2 for two way control.
Lovense Remote app: This is the main way to control the Solace Pro. You can adjust thrust speed, depth, use custom or downloadable pre-set patterns, share control with others, play games or use apps that control the toy, allow random people to take over control as well as chat and exchange texts and photos with those you meet online.
There's something kind-of kinky about jumping on and finding someone random to get you to cum, and then when your both done you both disappear back into the ether.
VibMateX: The VibeMateX app features are similar to the Lovense app but are more aligned to syncing with chatrooms and AI syncing with porn videos. The AI in the VibMateX app will automatically try to sync itself with any porn video opened through the app. It's a nice addition that should improve with time and when it works, it works really well. I did encounter a few videos that didn't sync though, and occasionally I would open a link in the app to find the video deleted or pending which was annoying - but overall the app seemed to sync well enough that the immersion was not broken.
For more detail on app functionality read my review on the Lovense Gush 2.
Alternative sleeves?
If your after an alternative sleeve these are a couple of options. The standard Lovense Solace Pro ships with a pretty basic sleeve that lacks realism. If you are after an alternative they also provide a more realistic sleeve, available for a very respectable $25 AUD. Note there is nothing different inside with the sleeve texture being exactly the same. If you're after a more realistic entry, there are options but in my mind I don't think it is necessary.

To answer the question - Can the Solace Pro take other sleeves?...The answer is yes but with a couple of caveats.
The Solace Pro is a little shorter than a Fleshlight but I was able to get several of my sleeves inserted including the Janice Griffith sleeve pictured below. The downside is that the entry for the Fleshlight entry is quite a bit wider than the Solace Pro so you end up with a bit of a mushroom look as the sleeve overhangs the housing. The length also compromises the sleeve slightly as the back end gets a little scrunched up towards the rear screw cap.
In use these never really compromise the sleeve use and the solace never seems to thrust deep enough to have this be an issue, you also gain the ability to control the level of suction felt in the chamber. While it may take some playing around, and not every insert will fit exactly, there is enough pliability in alternative sleeves to make their use a viable alternative.

Noise levels.
Noise levels around the claimed maximum sound level of 63 dB (washing machine, air conditioner, or dishwasher) when the unit was used with slower speeds and longer thrusts, the moment it sped up sound levels climbed to around 77 decibels (loud living room music or car noise) and was much higher than a manual stroker which in my testing generally sat around 55-60 Db. It also bangs around a bit as the mechanisms reach their throw limits.
Its significantly quieter than I thought it would be, but its not at all discrete and you will hear it in another room when in use. This alone could be a deal breaker if you live with other people and don't get sufficient alone time.
Material care: Say goodbye to long dry times.
Cleaning and drying the Solace Pro's TPE sleeve is simple! Its extremely flexible, and short enough that turning the sleeve inside out is easily done, this makes it super simple to wash out and clean the insert after use. The lack of significant nooks and crannies also keeps things a bit more hygienic as there are less spaces to trap material.
Being able to turn the sleeve inside out not only helps with cleanliness , it also helps with drying as you are able to pat dry the inside before flipping it back the right way around and drying the outside. It makes cleaning and drying a 5 minute affair rather than needing to rely on drying sticks or lengthy drying periods.
Packaging - Is that a big box in your hands or are you just happy to see me?
The packaging for the Lovense Solace is neat and uncomplicated, and clearly thought has been put into how it is designed. The exterior is constructed of heavy duty cardboard which sufficiently protects the unit inside - in my case the box my unit came in was struck buy another during shipping which punctured the cardboard yet my machine remained undamaged.
Internally the Solace Pro is stored inside a foam cutout with foam cover. There is a small cutout in the cover to expose the buttons on the unit, but otherwise it doesn't add much. The mount is packaged inside bubble wrap in a white cardboard box located on the side.
Overall the packaging is uncomplicated and does it's job protecting the product inside during shipping and overall, it has a well thought out and premium look to it that matches the might price tag.

Price and value: this is one pricey meatball
Lets not try and kid ourselves, the Solace Pro is very expensive averaging around $300 AUD / $200 USD although you can find it cheaper occasionally. Its an investment, but it's an one that gets you the following:
A premium well made, feature rich toy that offers a huge array of customizability and interactive features.
Ability to sync to webcams, Lovense apps, games, and most importantly porn.
Ability to translate touch into long distance play.
A solid desk mount.
Would I buy this again if it broke? Definitely! I am all for interactive adult toys that try something different and despite its occasional flaws I am fully on board with the AI sync and remote play features offered by these types of toys. While I hope that the AI features improve over time, for now although not advertised, the ability to use my existing Fleshlight sleeves really seals the deal as this has opened up a huge array of customizability with my existing purchases.
