My verdict

Let’s be honest - sex toys for guys can be a bit uninspired. Most fall into the usual categories: strokers shaped like flashlights, anal toys that all feel eerily similar, or yet another variation from Tenga. Sure, the designs may differ slightly, but unless you’re diving into the high-end, bespoke market, variety is pretty limited. But every now and then, something truly different comes along—something affordable and fun. Enter the Momonii Skull Man: an automatic thrusting and vibrating toy with LED eyes and a personality all its own. It’s quirky, it’s wild, and surprisingly, it doesn’t break the bank. Of course, it’s not without its flaws—but we’ll get into all of that in the full review below.

Pros

Automatic stroking.
Multiple speeds and programs.
Strong vibrations.
App controllable for local and long distance play.
Different punk styled design with light up LED eyes.
Internal heating element.

Cons

Noisy.
Insert can be a little difficult to replace after cleaning.
Cleaning, while not hard can be a little tricky.
Insert could be a little more snug.
Heating can only be turned on via the app.

Design and feel - A skull with LED lights for eyes

In my short time reviewing adult products, I've tested toys from high end manufactures through to more budget offerings. Never have I tested a toy that's this unique in its design philosophy...

The Momonii Skull Man is an automatic stroker that sits in the more affordable range of automatic toys and features a more punk inspired design. The exterior of the unit has a headphone loop that can be used to carry the toy and skull detail with light up LED eyes that sits behind a clear plastic cover. Its not sexy but it is unique. I do wonder if the skull skull should have been omitted for something with a more feminine look such as a light up outline of a girl or some tits with LED nipples?

Overall the unit appears well made and includes the following design features:

  • The outside case is made of hard ABS plastic, with a punk inspired details on the outside.

  • The lower portion is a grey clear plastic which the internal sleeve is viewable through. This piece is not removable.

  • The internal TPE sleeve is held in place with a plastic tab and strong magnets which makes for easy and through cleaning. You simply pull it out for washing. It can be a bit tricky trying to get the magnets to line up when reinserting however.

  • The sleeve itself features a tight and meaty opening with a looser back section filled with raised nubs.

  • Heating element is a great feature but its only controllable via the app.

She's a chunky beast.

But soft on the inside.

Controls and Experience.

The Skull Man boats a large array of features, and is feature rich particularly given its price. The unit itself is controlled one of two ways, via the physical buttons on either side of the 'headphones' or via app control, the one draw back I found though was that you need to use the app to turn on the heating function. This seems like a bit of an oversight as there should really be a button on the unit to operate this function given every other setting can be changed via the unit.

Controls:

Physical Buttons:

There are only two physical buttons on this unit, the left cycles through the 10 available vibration modes and the right through the 5 typos of thrusting actions. Vibration modes are pretty stock standard to almost every adult toy so I'll focus on describing the stroking motor.

  1. Long strokes - Provides a slower more consistent stroke.

  2. Fast strokes - Provides a fast and consistent stroke for getting off ASAP. Apparently this is as fast as 550 thrusts per minute.

  3. Wave like thrusting - A shorter consistent thrust.

  4. Mid-high speed thrusting - This is more like a pump type action.

  5. Pump and pause - A quick thrust followed by a pause.

App Control:

The Beyourlover app allows you to select the above functions via a pre-set mode but also adds the following:

  • Heating - the unit heats up to 40 degrees Celsius.

  • Touch mode - Allows you or a friend to control the speed of the thrusts via an on screen touchpad.

  • Custom Mode - Allows you to create custom patterns.

  • Music mode - Syncs to music.

  • Sound Mode - Syncs to audio picked up by the microphone.

  • Remote Mode - Allows someone to control the toy via an online connection.

Sound:

This toy is bang on the claims of the manufacturer measuring about 59-60 decibels when used in its fastest setting. Unfortunately this is actually quite loud and its not really discrete. Use this toy when you are alone otherwise you may draw some attention. When in use I was able to hear it from over 10 meters away.

But how does it feel?

For the price its not too bad. Vibrations are strong and can be felt in the tip, thrusting action is fast, the added heating element keeps things comfortable and ultimately it was able to get me to blow. However I did find that while the internal sleeve is very tight at the entry, there was a lack of pressure once you entered past the opening few cm's and despite the numerous raised bumps the back portion of the sleeve did feel quite loose. There is a distinct lack of definition to the bumps and it all just felt a little middling, unlike some strokers that have distinct zones that you need to push through.

While the bumps were not as tight as I would have liked the tight opening was definitely a plus when used in conjunction with the combination of warmth, thrusting and vibrations a felt great as it slide up and down the shaft. When combined all these sensations would get me to orgasm when the thrusting itself could not.

Overall despite its shortcomings, the Skull Man was still fun to use but I do think this toy would suit longer play sessions over a quickie as I found the thrusting itself could have been stronger and I found myself more often than not using it as a manual stroker to get myself over the edge rather than just letting it do its thing.

She's a tight one, the opening only about a cm across with internal nubs visible beyond.

Materials and care

I really appreciated the thought and ease of use from this toy. The sleeve is held in place via a plastic tab and magnets in the housing that really helps with clean-up and drying. When finished you simply pull of the sleeve from the unit allowing you wash it out.

The nubs at the very top did seem to hold matter though so I found it best to try and turn the whole sleeve inside out and then wash with toy cleaner. The ability to turn the sleeve inside out also aided in drying as I was able to pat it down with a towel before reversing it back in the right direction.

When dry the unit is kept dust free via the included cap which adds to both hygiene but also helps prolong the life of the unit.

Packaging

Packaging is nice but overall pretty stock standard. The unit comes in a hard cardboard box that had a large image of the unit on the front, some branding on the side and specs in Japanese and on the rear. Its nice, simple and serves its purpose, but there isn't really anything amazing. The Hong Kong and Taiwanese markets did get some bonuses that included some big anime titties on a plaque but they were not included in the worldwide release.

Box contents.

Price - Was it worth it?

Overall, despite its few shortcomings, I feel that this toy is worth your time, but you need to know what your getting yourself into. For the price there are a huge number of features that are usually found on much more expensive toys, the design (although subjective with its led eyes) is innovative and ultimately it will get you off. Ultimately you're getting a bunch of tech for the same price as a standard stroker.
