Playboy Pleasure Palm Review: Tap that Coochie

The Playboy Palm is nice to look at and good to hold, although tapping toys aren't exactly for me. If you’re a big fan, you might love this option though!

One thing I can say right off the bat about this product: It has that lovely, quality silicone feel that most nice toys have. Silky smooth and soft against your skin, this vibe does provide exactly what you’d expect when handling a product at its price point. And its five-year warranty and safe, odorless silicone material make it a great option for those who already know they enjoy these sensations. (But more on that later.)

Quality

As previously stated, the product feels sturdy, well-made, and comfortable in your hand. When you’re holding it in your palm, it’s a nice shape, and it’s easy to flip back and forth to get different angles and sensations. Basically, this is a great product when just going by the experience of holding it.

As I said, the tapping isn’t for me, but it does work as it should and provides a reliable experience. And while this should be the lowest of low bars, I have to say that, in my experience, Playboy doesn’t create toys with usability issues, and when you’re shelling out the cash for a brand name, this is a great comfort.

Experience

But here’s the deal: I think this product is pretty damn strong even on its lowest setting. Its special offering is that the top end provides the tapping sensation for the clit while the bottom end has a more controlled vibration setting. And though it has many different combinations of patterns for these two options, almost all of them are, well intense.

Performance

Normally, I love a powerful vibe. I prefer something strong in most cases. But maybe the tapping just isn’t for me. I was excited to try it with this product, but I wouldn’t recommend it to other tapping virgins. The sensation is very buzzy, which some people enjoy, but it feels kind of basic, intense, and too strong for me like an overzealous bullet with dreams of thrusting. If tapping is something you already know you like, great! But I wouldn’t start out with the Playboy Palm if you’re not sure.

One other complaint: the placement of the vibe’s buttons is a little weird. They would’ve been better and more useful on the back of the product. This is because they’re easy to lose when you’re moving the vibe around to get the right angle.

Materials and care

The product is easy to clean with its soft, buttery silicone and palmable shape. However, the tapping hole at the top would be cleaned best with a pipe cleaner, which is a bit finicky. Some similar vibes have removable parts to make them even easier to clean, or at least a smoother surface that you don’t need to get deep into, but this one will require a little more effort.

I’m also not a big fan of the magnetic charger, although it does make the product waterproof and submersible. If you’re willing to put up with the adjustments and making sure it stays put before walking away, you shouldn’t have any problems.

Packaging

You gotta hand it to the Playboy branding. They make unboxing cute, easy, and fun. Rather than a thin, cardboard box you can easily break a nail on, you get the Playboy logo, a peek-a-boo window with a magnet lid, and clear instructions that aren’t just an overall safety manual for any old vibe. I had no issues here and enjoyed the way Playboy made me feel like I was getting a special little gift with their infamous bunnies all over the inside flap.

Price

If you don’t know if you like the tapping sensation, this probably isn’t the price point you want to start at with a tapping toy. Online, you can find it for around $70, which is a good price for a vibe, but as I said, you’ll want to know before you pull the trigger.

Maybe visit your local sex shop to try out the sensation (on your hand, of course), or purchase something without the Playboy branding so that you can determine if you like the super quick tap-tap-tap on your clit. Remember: you’re probably not getting your money back if you don’t!
