Design

I travel A LOT, and I thought Tenga Egg would be the perfect solution. It’s small, beautifully designed, and fairly discreet. Well, if you carry eggs in your luggage it’s discreet.
As with all Tenga products it is beautifully packaged and in addition to its small size I bought it for its reputation. It promised fun from its little egg carton there on the shelf, and the only choice to be made was among its various internal textures.
The surprise came later.
Quality

The overwhelming first impression after opening the shell is of the silicone material - which is is super soft and squishy (too much so, in fact - more on that later). It comes with a plastic insert to hold the shape to keep it from collapsing in the shell. The insert holds a small tube of lube. Just pull the plug, squirt it in and you’re ready to go!
You can tell a lot of thought went in to the Egg, and it feels solid and substantial in its packaging with shell and shrink wrapping. Once you remove the packaging and sleeve, however, the hole has no articulation, it’s just a small round opening in the bottom of the wiggly, jiggly lump of (very soft) silicone in the palm your hand.
Experience

You think, “wow, that’s tiny,” and it is. But stretch is its super power. I guarantee it will stretch to cover anyone and everyone. But that’s the downside, too. The material is just too soft to convey much sensation from the interior ribbing or to simulate someplace tight. And tight is the name of the game when it comes to strokers, right? All sensation with the Egg is generated by your grip and not the toy. So it made me think, what's the point?
My guess is that the shell of a Fleshlight-type toy has a structural purpose in addition to one of discretion/covering the insert. True or not, when you remove the egg from its packaging there is no longer anything to provide shape or structure.
Not only is it WAY gentle, but the design is such that the lube - if not super viscous - leaks out everywhere. Now, sloppy sex is great, but when it’s with a toy designed for a quickie you shouldn’t have to deal with lube squirting out and running everywhere.
Performance

It gets distractingly transparent where it stretches the most (at the tip). Not like a transparent toy you use to see yourself move in, but in an ‘OMG I’m going to break through this thing’ way. Which is distracting and a buzzkill.
My best stroker experiences have come with toys that simulate penetration and then grip me full length (whatever the internal configuration may be) as you stroke. The Egg gives you none of that.
Materials and care

It easily turns inside out making it super easy to clean. And then the plastic insert helps it dry completely. It’s (kind of) marketed for single use, but if you like it it’s quick to clean - much easier than, say, a Fleshlight. And much quicker than tracking down the lube that got everywhere!
Packaging

It’s cute. The packaging is well designed. The idea (tiny toy you can take places) is great. It’s in an egg carton with other friends that are differently contoured internally and some special editions. Minimalist and sleek.
If it only delivered!
Price
The Egg is way too expensive (IMO) for a single use but the disappointing experience makes it something you’ll not want to use on a repeat basis. So, for me it was effectively a single use and poor value. It makes me wonder about the other Tenga products quality.
