We-Vibe Nova Review: This Rabbit Hits All The Right Spots

The rabbit vibrator has a long history that makes it popular shape still among toy users and in sex shops. The long arm meant for inserting and stimulating the G-spot and the short arm meant to sit against the clitoris are supposed to work together to create a dual sensation, offering both internal and external pleasure in one toy.

Let me go into this saying I’ve never been a huge fan of the rabbit design (despite my handle 😉). I have one of them made by a different company, and that’s always felt like enough for me, specifically because the toy never seems to sit where I wanted it in order to give me the famed dual pleasure associated with its design.

But all of that has changed now that I’ve found the WeVibe Nova…

Design

The product is designed in such a way that its shorter arm curves comfortably against the clit while the longer arm can be inserted for lush, lovely internal vibration. This toy’s ability to be moved every which way is touted as its main feature, as the description promises it'll go with all your wildest moves.

But I’ll argue that the design does more than that. Everyone’s body is different, and stiffer rabbits (like the lone one I owned before this) can fail to sit comfortably and steadily against the clit while you’re using the internal arm. But this isn’t the case with the Nova. The external arm can be bent in or out, stretching it either which way to an impressive degree. But once you have the internal arm inserted and you’ve pressed the external arm against your clit, it stays put in the best and most consistent way I’ve ever seen.

Quality

The toy’s quality feels beyond reproach. Yes, WeVibe is an expensive brand that, sometimes, can make a product unworthy of the cost. But the quality of this option knocks it out of the park.

The silicone is buttery, the external arm is highly flexible without feeling like it’s about to snap off, and the internal arm isn’t too stiff, nor is it so bendable that it won’t stay put when you need it to. This toy feels sturdy and well made but pliable and pleasing. Really, it’s a triumph from WeVibe, a brand I’ve liked but haven’t always loved in the past.

Experience

Nova offers an incredible experience from start to finish. It doesn’t only provide you with the ability to move comfortably while keeping the external arm right where you need it, but the vibration strength is impressive. It also offers a lot of variable patterns.

You can’t discuss the toy without bringing up the app. The hands-free feel, especially for a toy like this, is really nice and makes the app worth using for that reason alone. It also offers you amazing extras like music vibration patterns and articles about before, during, and after ideas for solo play and couples. Pretty exciting. Plus, you can use it long-distance with a partner, though I will say WeVibe’s app isn’t as reliable for this feature as other brands like Lovense.

Performance

As previously stated, the performance of the toy itself was top-notch. It definitely made me rethink my disinterest in rabbit-shaped vibes. I guess I just hadn’t found one flexible enough for me because this toy really goes the extra mile to provide double pleasure.

Again, we must revisit the app, though. While amazing, the price of this toy is somewhat dependent on the app, which is a special feature and not offered with all WeVibe toys. As such, I wish the app was a little less glitchy, especially for long-distance use.

Materials and care

The body-safe silicone makes it totally comfortable to use, and it’s waterproof (IPX7) and easy to care for. It came with an instruction manual, but there’s a lot more info on the app. The charger is a magnetic option, which goes along with its waterproof nature. It’s not something I normally care much about, but with this toy, I could see having more submersible fun.

Packaging

WeVibe’s packaging is always fun. It usually offers some cheeky copy and bold colors that make it feel like playtime for grownups in the best way. Everything worked and was sealed properly, although the lube provided with the toy had expired. I had plenty myself, but it’s the kind of thing you never want to see with a toy this expensive.

Price

The Nova retails for $159, which is pricey for a rabbit toy. But between the app and the shape of the toy itself, I’d say it’s worth it to shell out the extra dough, especially if you can find it on sale. I’ve used some WeVibe products (like their Tango X bullet) that don’t offer much more than an inflated cost, but this isn’t one of them.
