Design
Lelo Sona’s design is phenomenal! It’s sleek and sexy. It’s a toy you want to use. Designed to use with generous amounts of lubricant, soft silicone compliments water-based lube well while working effectively without it. Although I totally recommend using lubricant, it heightens the experience.
The buttons have a really interesting design. They’re easy to find, which earns big points with me, but they work by holding them down and releasing them when the desired intensity is reached. It takes some time to get used to, but doesn’t feel too unnatural after a while.
The toy is also waterproof and ready for bath or shower play. However, Lelo doesn’t recommend using it in water because water negates your body’s natural lubricant. That decision is completely up to the user, though.

Experience
At first, I was skeptical. I’ve used a lot of toys with this type of stimulation, and it’s rare for one to stand out. The best part of these toys, especially the Lelo, is they allow for edge play. Meaning you can bring yourself close to an orgasm and back off repeating this over and over to intensify your climax. Air pulsing stimulation is the best way to edge that I’ve found. You can get lost in time using the Lelo.
But there is one small issue I had. Personally, I would have preferred a larger suction head. Not because of the size of my body but because these smaller targeted heads tend to hammer away at small areas, leaving me overstimulated and chasing an orgasm. Rigid silicone around the head contributes to this, as they don’t allow those vibrations to ripple through them and stimulate the edges of your clit near the toy. This happened when I used the Sona. I had to take a break and come back to it a few minutes later to finish the job. That being said, the pulsations are fantastic and have a great range of intensity.
Overall, the toy performs better than most on the market. I would prefer either a slightly broader head or a more pliable silicone wall, but these aren’t deal breakers.

Quality
Quality materials, soft silicone, incredible technology and design, and thoughtful construction make this toy worth every penny you spend. I’ve had a hard time in the past finding toys that felt like a good quality. Sometimes you use them once or twice, and they don’t charge, the sound changes, or the buttons start to feel off—not with this toy. It feels durable in your hand.

Price
At $89, this toy is definitely in a higher tax bracket. It might not be the best beginner toy at this price, but I think it’s worth investing in.
Packaging
The best part of the packaging was the snakeskin texture of the box. The whole package screams sleek and sexy.
