Design

Basic Shape but Exactly What I Needed

As someone who does pet play as one of their main types of kink play, I like my tails to go with my pet. This is my second purchase from this company, and I needed to size up from their small size. I was looking for a cat tail as I already had a fox tail from them. This company has a large range of different kinds of animal tails at various lengths. They also carry other kinds of plug, as well. This tail is actually advertised as a wolf tail and is only 15in (38.01cm) for the tail only. Unfortunately, there are only two size plug options for this tail and the smaller one is too small for me. I have ordered the large plug this time and the dimensions are 3.5in (8.89cm) in length, about 2.5in (6.35cm) around and base is 1.5in (3.81cm) in width.

Quality

Get What One Pays For

The quality of this tail plug is on the lower end. The material used to make the tail is fairly scratchy and can shed in small pieces. There is a section of the tail where one can feel a patch of the sewing being uneven. The plug is also due for concern as it is important, during anal play, to have a base larger than the width of the insertable part of the toy. This provides safety in case the plug gets taken too far into the body. Most basic plugs have this problem, and it is important to notice this before buying a plug. The plug is stainless steel and solid all the way around. The threading inside is standard to most plugs and can be used on most tail plugs.

Varying Comfortability

Going with the larger size plug helped a lot since I am competent at anal play. I have been doing it for a few years now and just started being more consistent with that type of play. As always, it is required that one uses some type of lube when inserting toys anally. I found this toy a bit harder to get in and that was what I was looking for. I can play a little rough sometimes, with the plug in, and I have not had any issues with the toy going too far inside. I have had the plug be a bit uncomfortable with a lot of motion and do not recommend rough housing with a larger plug size. One thing I did notice when wearing the tail is that fecal matter can get onto the tail and require extra cleaning. This can be easily rinsed off, and the tail be cleaned like normal.

Better Tail Structure

This company provides various sizes in length for their tails. I am on the shorter side and only have a 24in (60.69cm) inseam. I ordered the advertised 16in (40.64cm) tail. I found that this size works really well for me and does not have any risks dragging on the ground behind me. During play with this toy, I have noticed I really liked the way that the tail was sewn together. On my previous fox tail the stitching snapped due to the tail being bent sideways, so I could sit with the tail inserted. The stitching on this tail is stitched flat in a rectangular shape so that the end of the tail that has the plug can lay flat without interfering with the stitching. Unfortunately, the tail is not the softest when playing and can cause sensory issues to those sensitive to textures.

Materials and care

Two-Part Cleaning process

The tail and plug needed to separate during the cleaning process. This can get cumbersome at times if laundry is something one struggles with. The plug is able to be cleaned with regular toy cleaner and water but also can be boiled. It is important to keep in mind the hole for the screw threading and make sure that is completely dry before storing. As for the tail, I throw it in the laundry on cold with the rest of my clothes after making sure there is no bodily solids on it. The bodily solids can be easily rinsed off under the sink before going into the washer. The threading has survived well with that and putting the tail in a pillowcase can also help keep it safe. For drying, I use a hairdryer on the cool setting and fluff it by hand. This keeps the tail from being burnt or falling apart during cleaning.

Packaging

Underwhelming but Practical

The packaging is pretty underwhelming. It is kept in a single plastic sleeve that is very easy to rip open, both because of the sticky tab and the material being thin. The plug is covered in two layers of packaging, and the foam sleeve can be repurposed for future use.

Love Plugs are known for their affordable tails and is a top place I go to when I need a tail for a cheaper price. The biggest issue is that the tails are not the highest quality and come with maintenance issues.
