Nobra Twincharger Review: The Strongest Male Vibrator, Ever

Given that the physical controls offer three dials and four buttons, you’ll understand when I say this will take you a while to learn. The main control knob next to the power controls the overall intensity, all the way from a pleasant bassy thrum that’s similar to any regular vibrator to a washing machine on full spin cycle level of power. Then the two knobs on the inline cable change the interference pattern by adjusting the power distribution between the two motors. It seems like one also acts as a secondary power limiter, but that is in addition to the main power dial. The other daily goes from both motors doing the same thing, to each doing the complete opposite of the other. On the digital controller, you’ll also find four small push buttons. With the LED on the side facing you, buttons 1 and 2 increase and decrease the pulse width, respectively. 3 and 4 decrease and increase the distance between the minimum and maximum pulsation–I guess this is the equivalent of wave amplitude. (Yes, you may need to revisit your high school physics classes). By pressing button 4 several times, you end up with a pulsation of the vibration, so the vibration comes in and out in waves. Press 1+2 to change the pulse form between sinus wave, sawtooth left, sawtooth right, and a rectangle. If you’ve ever played with a musical synthesizer, this might make sense. But for the rest of us, it changes the feel of the vibration. In theory, anyway. Personally, I couldn’t feel a huge difference. Other button combinations are used to set things like saving a pattern, retrieving a pattern, or disabling Bluetooth. I’ll be honest: even after re-reading the manual a few times, I’m still not 100% what these all do. But that’s ok; it still feels amazing. You can also use a Windows-only app called Nobra Control. It’s no less confusing than the physical controls, but if you have a microphone or way to route sound around your PC, then in theory, you can get it to react to music in various ways. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get my built-in mic working. I’ll also note that the Nobra Twincharger is compatible with the excellent Intiface software, a universal sex toy adapter application that, in turn, allows the Twincharger to connect with interactive video scripts, hentai games, and more. That’s really out of the scope of this review, but yes, it is compatible.

The combination of powerful motors and heavy, silicone body means the pulsations cause the entirety of the Twincharger to writhe back and forth, as the head oscillates wildly. If you enjoy any kind of vibration on your cock, then you’re going to have your mind blown with this. Unlike other “guybrators,” that need to focus a limited amount of stimulation on your head or just your frenulum, the Twincharger can be felt through your whole shaft. Though if you’d rather it just be on the head, you can turn it around and do that too. The other benefit is that it can be truly hands-free with the addition of a rubber band. While the controls can be mystifying at times, you can just twiddle them until you find a setting you like, then largely ignore anything other than the main power dial. On full power, it can be overstimulating, but I love to dial it down and edge for at least half an hour. There’s so much variation in the sensations, and the interference patterns between each motor are really a unique experience that you have to try for yourself to believe. It’s almost too powerful. This level of power isn’t ideal to run on batteries. While it is possible to make it up to 12V using batteries alone, they won’t last long. Which is why you need an a power adaptor and cable. The cable is annoying, and that’s something to be careful of. It’s also built into the main silicone chunk, so if you were to accidentally yank it out during use, it can’t be repaired. The main downside is the price. It’s one of the most expensive vibrators, retailing at just under €300 for the complete set with digital controller (as reviewed), or €225 for the basic analog model. I was lucky enough to score mine secondhand on Reddit—and if you’re thinking “ewww, gross”, know that silicone can be sterilized easily with a quick wipe of rubbing alcohol. I would never have considered paying €300 for a vibrator, but having tried it out, I think the price is justified. However, you’ll need to order from nobra.de in Germany, pay in Euros, plus add delivery, VAT, and customs fees on top. That’s potentially another €100. That’s a lot of money for something to jiggle your cock around.

If you’re big enough, it should be a hands-free operation, but if not, a thick rubber band ensures it’ll stay put and offer maximum transfer of sensations. While it’s not waterproof, the silicone is easily cleaned with a toy wipe or rubber alcohol—just don’t immerse it in water.
