Playboy Royal Mini Wand Review: Regal Experience — Especially for Newbies

Design

Wands are certainly an enjoyable option, but for many people who see the classic magic wand shape for the first time, they can seem a bit clunky. I always sort of wondered who needed something that big anyway, and when I've reached for a wand toy, I've only used smaller ones than this one. But let's just say, after spending some time with it, the Playboy Royal Mini Wand sold me on the idea of larger wands, and wands in general.

Quality

First off, I can't say enough about the color. It's beautiful up close: pink, iridescent, and sleek. Pictures really can't do justice to how it manages to catch the light, which makes it such a pretty feminine toy. The feel of the toy is actually amazing. It's waterproof, fully submersible, and made of phthalate- and latex-free, body-safe silicone. Playboy makes items of pretty good quality, and you can even look on the back to see the bunny's "seal of approval," which lends even more to the product's high-quality feel.

Experience

When I started playing with it, I was immediately struck both by how smooth and intense this toy could get. Let's just say this little guy packs a punch! Since I've only used smaller wands before, I was a bit surprised by how much surface area it could cover and how much I enjoyed that sensation. The vibration carried and created a deeply intense rumble that I really enjoyed. And the design on the toy's head actually created a cooling sensation that I only noticed some of the time but that created a lovely little surprise when it did!

Performance

The charge lasted over an hour for me, which was great. It delivered exactly what it said it would, which was a strong sensation that didn't weaken over time. It also felt good on other parts of my body such as my chest, thighs, and stomach as well as all around my clit and opening. Because of the way it's shaped, it can sit against your clit and still get the inner circles of the vagina (labia minora) and clitoral hood.

But I do have one major bone to pick with this product: the sleek nature of it means it's very easy to lose the buttons in the shuffle. Naturally, I needed to move the product around to hit the right spots, and it was easy to forget which sides the buttons were on as well as what was up and what was down. It also was uncomfortable to press the buttons with the same hand, with other wand toys they're easy to find with the other hand instead. This was probably my least favorite feature.

Materials and care

The material felt silky, and the toy was easy to clean. I have sensitive skin, and at no point did this product irritate me, which was a fantastic thing to be able to say! The charging experience was pretty much what it said on the tin: two hours is enough to get it to moderate strength, but a four-to-six hour charge will give you the stronger experience I had. However, the charger port is very small, and when you plug it in, it might feel like it's going to break, which isn't the best experience.

Packaging

The unboxing experience was one of my favorite parts. The box, as you can see, has the same iridescent quality as the product itself, so it gives you a good idea of what to expect. It felt like a premium experience just to open the box because it had a magnetic lid that lifts off from the side. Opening it felt like an unboxing experience, like a treat or like opening a gift. When you compare it with grungy cardboard boxes, it really does make a difference. Also, the instructions were short and to the point but clear, leaving me with no questions.

Price

Price-wise, the product may or may not be worth it to you depending on what you're looking for. If you like the look and want an official Playboy toy and don't mind that being baked into the price, go for it! I'd also recommend it if you are looking for a first wand or first toy that isn't one of those crappy bullets by the register. However, if the $70-ish price point is out of your budget range, you might not be willing to swing it. There are some websites where you can buy this product on sale, though, so give that a try!
