My verdict

The VIVV Massage Wand by Ava is an adorable, humbly sized vibrating wand with a flexible neck for precision pressure and pleasure. The high-quality, soft, silicone ribbed head adds an unexpected dimension to vibrations. However, the diagonal ribbing on the handle makes finding the buttons difficult and can turn an attempt to adjust intensity or vibration pattern into a lost orgasm. Slightly making up for the confusing texture, the Ava VIVV features 20 vibration patterns and 8 intensities. I say ‘slightly’ because at least 10 of the 20 vibration patterns are redundant. Their slight differences offer the nuance needed for precise pleasure, and taking a few extra minutes to cycle through and find the right one isn’t the worst way to spend your time. The only other hitch in this device is that it resumes whatever intensity and pattern you used before when you turn it on. Sometimes, this is great. Other times, it’s nice to reset and start out easy.

Design

Ava’s VIVV Massage Wand is a timeless yet modern toy. Designers made clever choices when it comes to texture, making the head ultra pleasurable with soft ripples and the handle comfortable to grip with candy cane-like ribbing. 3 buttons sit on the side of the handle in the center, easy to see but a disaster to search for when in use. A metal cap sits on the end opposite the head, framing a charging port. The plug is covered with a soft layer of silicone designed to hide the port and keep water out, while safe to clean it’s ready for shower play and cannot be submerged.

Experience

The Ava VIVV Massage Wand is a great standard wand. Its physical length makes playtime easy and explorative, though it’s not as quiet as Ava promises. I found the soft ribbing on the head and flexible neck the best features of this toy. While the endless settings and intensities are nice, 18 of the 20 vibration patterns did nothing for me. Two of them, though, hit the ball out of the park. The toy takes a little getting used to, and the patterns take a while to cycle through, but 8 levels of intensity make building up to a climax seamless. The intuitive memory function, allowing you to pick up where you left off, wasn’t my favorite. It’s nice that I didn’t have to cycle back through all the settings to find the right pattern. However, because the intensity settings go from low to high and then high to low, rather than cycling through, I had to interrupt my session just to go down one notch of intensity. Overall, I really enjoyed this toy. There are a few changes I’d make, but they’re small.

Quality

Quality materials, construction, and unique design decisions make the Massage Wand feel luxurious. A small covering over the charging port makes the toy simple to clean with toy cleaner or anti-bacterial soap and water. Overall, this toy leaves nothing to be desired in terms of quality.

Price

At a shockingly affordable price, $24, the Ava VIVV Massage Wand is surprisingly luxurious. Maybe it’s the color, the variety of settings, or clever design features - whatever makes this toy magic, it’s an excellent option, especially for the price.

Performance

I have zero complaints about this toy’s performance. Once I found the right pattern and positioned the buttons under my pointer finger, I had a wild ride. I recommend getting to know the toy first; after that, it’s easy to use, straightforward, and fun.
