My verdict

It’s one thing to send a broken toy. But, to send a broken wand, with stains on the head and half of a button missing? What a shame. The Fantasy for Her Duo Wand looked like an interesting take on a wand. It has a curved head and is a comfortable size, not too big, not too small, but Pipedream lost a customer. I’ve gotten broken toys before. Years ago, I ordered a new Liberty 2 from Womanizer. I was so excited, the pandemic had closed down my job, leaving me at home to masturbate uninterrupted. Except, when the Liberty arrived, it didn’t work, no matter how long it charged nothing happened. I immediately reached out to Womanizer, and they replaced the toy, no questions asked, and I got a working toy in the end. It’s super normal, though still uncommon, for a toy to show up and not work. Most companies are great about replacing them. Had the Duo Wand just been broken, I would’ve gladly ordered another one. But alas, it showed up in its sealed plastic with stains on the head. I can’t imagine it had been used; that would truly cross so many lines. A toy should always arrive in its best condition, but there was chipping on the metal band around the handle, one button’s decal was smudged, and there were stains. Considering everything that was wrong with this toy, I don’t recommend trying toys from Pipedream.

Experience

I opened the box and pulled the plastic mold holding the toy out. It was kept in a silver-backed, plastic bag, probably to ensure cleanliness. At first, I thought the bag was overkill and harshed the vibe of the toy. Its packaging looked more like single-serve toiletries rather than sexual wellness goodies. As soon as I opened it, I saw dried stains coating the head. I figured these were from manufacturing and couldn’t be bodily fluid, even though that’s what they looked like. I immediately washed the toy to take photos for this review, but the stains wouldn’t come off completely. In the meantime, I decided to finish taking photos and plug the toy in. The metal band on the side has a chip in it, and the top button (the on button) is smudged. None of this effects the toy’s usefulness, but it does seem like pretty shoddy quality.

All the cosmetics aside, the toy didn’t work. Usually, there’s a little initial battery, so I can test to see if it turns on and what each setting is like. It’s not too weird to need a charge right off the bat, though. The Duo Wand has a light that indicates charging, it turned on for roughly 30 seconds before turning off. I read the manual, unplugged it, played with the buttons, left it on the charger for over an hour–nothing.

With everything that was wrong with this toy when I opened the box, I have no interest in getting a replacement. It’s just gross.

Quality

Maybe the materials are of decent quality, but there’s no sign of any real care. It almost seems like something you’d buy off an infomercial at 3 a.m.

Price

$44 is cheap for a good wand, but I wouldn’t waste a dime on this toy. A company that isn’t trustworthy does not deserve your money. There are plenty of toy companies out there that will not send you this rubbish.

Packaging

The packaging is fine, but it doesn’t leave you feeling pampered or like you’re taking care of yourself. It’s a plain white box with several photos of the toy on every side. The instructions for the toy are located on the outside of the box, along with photos showing the toy vibrating. Clearly, discretion was not a consideration for Pipedream.

Materials and care

The charging cable plugs into the toy with a single prong, and it fits into the middle of the handle. However, it’s really tricky to line it up. This seems like a design flaw common with cheaper toys.
