My verdict
8/10, have been doing again and again.
While not being quite the Fleshlight killer I was hoping for, this toy definitely still stands in the same league. The MainSqueeze Valerica Steele Stroker is truly a top-of-the-line male sex toy designed for the ultimate pleasure sessions. The molding of the product is nothing short of impressive - matched by the internal texture and overall build quality.
I'll give them props for standing out with the "squeezability" feature, but in my opinion, that lost them a few points. More on that later.
The TL;DR here is: if it's on sale, it's worth the schmeckles.
Pros
- Looks great from all angles
- Squeezes your member just right
- Form factor makes it easy to clean, store, and take around
Cons
- The squeeze plate just doesn't do it for me, handling takes some getting used to
- While sleek, the case is weirdly tapered and doesn't offer the best grip
Design
Valerica gets her pussy plastered on camera all the time, but what they did behind the scenes here is top notch.
The visual detail is way better crafted than what I've seen from Fleshlight Girls or the Kiroo products.
The case itself is sleek, with a soft satin finish. All the parts click together with satisfying eaze, including the vacuum cap on the end. I've seen ill fitting caps that just don't work as intended on some other big name stroker brands, but the one on the Main Squeeze really locks in.
The packaging is swell, and the website copy does well to serve product sales.
Experience
The internal texture of the Valerica Steele Stroker is simply outstanding. The ridges and textures inside are strategically placed, providing an immense level of stimulation.
The top half of the sleeve is "ribbed" like other strokers, so there's maybe only a 1/4 inch of material around your shaft, but the bottom half is a solid chunk of material. This goes hand-in-hand with their "special feature" - the squeeze plate.
Basically, the plate presses up against this chunk to provide the squeeze effect.
In my opinion, pushing into the denser sleeve just felt so much better than other toys. Just had an extra oomph.
This sounded great in concept, but the execution was lacking. The plate takes up about maybe 25% of the case, so it's almost impossible to hold onto the toy without pushing it down somehow. While it seems like that would give you constant control of the toys tightness, it really just makes the whole thing ergonomically awkward. Add this to the tapered case, it's not as grab-and-go as I'd like.
The plate runs most of the length of the case, so unless you have giant hands it's not easy to maintain an even pressure distribution.
All in all though, the look and feel of the sleeve keeps bringing me back, despite this one minor caveat.
Quality
The sleeve itself delivers hard - which is what you'll be when playing with it.
The packaging and aesthetic scream luxury experience, a look that culminates in the silky smooth and ultra realistic Ultraskyn sleeve.
Sure, the squeeze gimmick might be just a gag, some product manager's wet unique-selling-point dream - but it's still well thought out and designed with consideration.
UltraSkyn is the Doc Johnson flavor of TPE - a material that differs from silicon by purporting to be more realistic and akin to a lifelike human element. My only take therein: we're still just simulating sex through surrogacy. Nothing beats the real deal.
But if our female partners can play with the wildest of toys (looking at you bad dragon), us penis-touters should be able to normalize a little bit of TPE action. I'd wager the folks at Doc Johnson feel the same, and I'm glad they do.
Packaging
The box itself is well printed, featuring a high res picture of our (or at least my) favorite pornstar.
As someone who grew up in the age of digital pornography, Val's likeness in print makes me feel like I'm in the 80's, stashing a PlayBoy under my mattress.
The toy was delivered in a discreet grey shipping bag with no obviously discernible return address - the USPS guy probably thought I bought a sample chunk of 2x4 lumber.
Special feature
As mentioned, I wasn't too thrilled with the squeeze feature, but it was *kinda* fun. It's easily overlooked when considering the other qualities of this toy.
The squeeze plate is magnetically attached to the rest of the casing and seamlessly snaps into place. The construction itself exhibits a fine attention to detail; the snap back to the case is superb, and the plate never skews out of line (so far).
TBH, your humble authors hands may just be too small to fully take advantage of the offering here.
Price
This toy was sent to me as part of a giveaway, but it comes in at just about the same price as a Fleshlight. In all honesty, I'd probably spend my money on something else after reading this review.
FWIW: This is the first product from Doc Johnson I've had my hands on. This company has gone so far as to make an independent site just for their MainSqueeze product line.
If you've shopped around at all, you'll know that DJ sits at the top of the market; after 40 years in business, they've gotta know what their consumers (read: we) want. I've not tried out their other toys for men, but I've seen their offerings in the big online stores and brick and mortar shops around California (and in the bedside drawers of some of my friends).
At the time of writing, they're offering 50% off (discount code: GIFT50). If ToyChats can hook up a permanent deal, I'd certainly partake. Editor, the floor is yours:
