My verdict
If I wanted to speak Morse Code, I’d buy a Ham radio, not a vibrator. Don’t get me wrong, this is a beautifully designed, high-quality vibrating wand. However, I have a very specific personal issue with this toy. The wand has 20 patterns, and while I appreciate that each pattern is nuanced and probably appeals to users who have been looking for that specific “dot dot dash” vibration, I could have done without 18 of them. For me, the first and eighteenth vibration patterns are the ones I want. And I’d love to be able to start with one, go to the other, and go back and forth until I’m tired. But I can’t do that with the Ava VIVVO Wand because I have to cycle through all the patterns to find the right one. And because they’re all so similar, I easily miss the one I’m looking for and have to cycle through all 20 again. This probably sounds so petty, but when you need that little shift in vibration, you don’t want to click through 17 that are just “meh.” I think this part of the design is bothersome enough to ruin the toy entirely.
Pros
Soft silicone feels great on your body
Special button to immediately hit maximum intensity
Easy to use
7 hour battery life
Cons
Too many vibration patterns
Fairly simple wand
Design

The Ava VIVVO Massage Wand is a truly beautiful toy. It arrives in packaging that doubles down on the toy being a wellness product. The quality of silicone and materials combined with a sleek and beautiful design make the toy feel luxurious. Aesthetically, it is a wonderful toy. Its extremely easy to use. The toy has 4 buttons, all clearly marked and easy to differentiate. The top button is exclusively to raise and lower intensity, the next button controls pattern, the next is on/off, and the bottom button immediately engages maximum power. That last button is genius, and the overall layout of the toy is well-designed and enjoyable. I just can’t get over having 20 patterns–most of them are unnecessary, and having to cycle through all of them to find the one you want is inefficient. This poor design is difficult for me to get past. All this being said, if the pattern issue does not bother you, the rest of the toy is immaculately designed.

Experience

Starting off, the Ava VIVVO Wand is marvelous. It’s so soft to the touch and feels great against your body. I started out with the lowest setting of the first vibration pattern, a constant vibrating with no pulses. I moved through intensities to try out the range and was really pleased. I’m not usually interested in different patterns, but the nuances of all 20 variations Ava had were fun to try. Most of them were too abrupt and unnatural to feel good. But, pattern 17 or 18 was sensational. It was too intense to start out with, so I wound up starting with the first pattern then cycling through to the second when I was ready. The annoying part of the experience came when I waited through 16 patterns to get to the one I wanted. To be sure I didn’t miss it, I would wait through a second or two of each pattern on the way. It took longer than I wanted and distracted me from the overall experience. Once I got there, it was incredible, and I’m so happy that I found a pattern I actually liked. I just feel like Ava should’ve made this whole process more efficient and pleasurable for users if they were going to offer it.

Quality

The quality of the Ava VIVVO Massage Wand is unmistakable as soon as you look at the box. It’s well crafted, has excellent materials, and is reliable. The wand is water-resistant and has a substantial one-year warranty. It only takes 4 hours to reach a full charge of 7 hours, so its super easy to plug in before work and come home to charged. The wand comes with a storage bag, furthering its luxurious feel.

Price

This wand sells for $40 on the Ava website but is currently (March 2025) on sale for $31. All things considered (including my ultra-specific, personal problem), this is an excellent purchase. For what you’re getting, $31 is a steal.

Packaging

Ava designed a sleek box with a frosted window hiding the toy. Its closes on the side with magnets and opens to reveal the toy. Instructions and toy features are printed in beautiful type inside the box cover and along the back. It comes with a USB charging cord, storage bag, and user manual.

Materials and care

The toy is water-resistant and easy to clean. Use soap and warm water, toy cleaner, or an unscented, anti-bacterial wet wipe to do the job. Make sure you don’t submerge the toy in water, and no shower play.

  • Plus One Dual Vibrating Arc: Full of Surprises

The Dual Vibrating Arc from Plus One features a simple, sleek design that packs a punch. For once, a ‘personal massager’ that is actually lovely to use on your back and between your legs. The curved design and soft silicone fit comfortably in my hand while providing targeted internal stimulation. With two size options and multiple speeds, the Dual Vibrating Arc is perfect for finding the g-spot and p-spot, making it a gender-inclusive toy. Strong vibrations and ergonomic hold make this an excellent option for clitorial or external play, as well. The toy’s length made playing on my back and stomach easy. However, the toy did let me down a little. The shape of the arch doesn’t allow for simultaneous dual stimulation. While only one side vibrates at a time - already a little disappointing - the vibrations are so strong they made my hand tingle - not a bad thing, but not the most comfortable for longer play.

  • Confusing Magic: the Ava VIVV Massage Wand

The VIVV Massage Wand by Ava is an adorable, humbly sized vibrating wand with a flexible neck for precision pressure and pleasure. The high-quality, soft, silicone ribbed head adds an unexpected dimension to vibrations. However, the diagonal ribbing on the handle makes finding the buttons difficult and can turn an attempt to adjust intensity or vibration pattern into a lost orgasm. Slightly making up for the confusing texture, the Ava VIVV features 20 vibration patterns and 8 intensities. I say ‘slightly’ because at least 10 of the 20 vibration patterns are redundant. Their slight differences offer the nuance needed for precise pleasure, and taking a few extra minutes to cycle through and find the right one isn’t the worst way to spend your time. The only other hitch in this device is that it resumes whatever intensity and pattern you used before when you turn it on. Sometimes, this is great. Other times, it’s nice to reset and start out easy.

  • Plus One Vibrating Bullet: Average Travel Size Vibes

The Plus One Vibrating Bullet is a simple, easy to use, travel-size vibe. The no-frills, straightforward design gets the job done. This isn’t the first toy I’d pull out of my drawer, but it’s the backup I like knowing is there. Its size makes it great for partnered play, as it doesn’t get in the way and can easily be moved around. With only one button, getting confused or struggling to change settings is nearly impossible. The 10 vibration settings offer a range of intensities and patterns that are standard for most vibrators. Included in the box is a finger sleeve, which majorly elevates the experience and pleasure of the bullet. Soft, high-quality silicone makes this toy fully waterproof, allowing for shower play. Overall, this is a very average toy. It satisfies but doesn’t over-deliver.

  • Smooth and Beginner Friendly: Plus One’s Vibrating Wand

The Plus One Vibrating Wand is smooth in every sense of the word. Suave, moderately powerful vibrations radiate from its broad, soft head with a flexible neck, giving you total control of where the vibes go and how much pressure they apply. Overall, I was satisfied with this toy - it doesn’t have the strength of other wands, but the cadence of the vibrations rolls instead of pounds, making this wand more sensual than most vibrators. It has 10 settings varying in intensity and pattern, is cordless, and fully waterproof. The silicone surrounding the toy is soft and feels nice in your hand as you maneuver the wand. It's a great first wand or vibrator, but I wouldn’t recommend it to experienced players looking for a new toy. For my taste, it was a little too simple. However, there really isn’t anything to complain about.

Pure Envy Serenity Stick Review: Spa-aaahhh or Na-aaahhh?

The Pure Envy Serenity Stick is unique among all of the toys I have encountered thus far as it has an electronic panel that displays the setting, the intensity level, run time, and the battery level all in a super clear and convenient manner. It has 10 settings, a single vibration and 9 patterns, and each setting can have an intensity varying from 1 to 4. Though a charging time is nowhere to be found, the device can be used for 120 minutes and has an IPX7 rating which blows my mind! This has more electronics than the other Pure Envy toys I have, but is the only one among them that's capable of being fully submersed in a tub! Despite its name being Serenity, I would not call the sounds it makes serene in the least. The vibrations sound a bit intense and obnoxious which kind of breaks the mood in a sensual sense, but I could somehow tolerate and overlook if it means that my neck, shoulders, and back feel better lol. This device is pretty awesome overall for what it is and what it's capable of, but I think I would put it with my Ava Evo and Shibari Halo and use it as a genuine every day massager more than I'd ever use it as a "personal" one.

Iroha Koharu Beni: Cute but Boring

The Iroha Koharu Beni is nothing special. It’s your average battery powered vibrator. There’s nothing about it that stands out to me as noteworthy. It’s decently powerful, which is always nice. The shape is interesting, I haven’t seen something exactly like it before. But that’s the problem, really. I’ve seen a lot of vibrators similar to this, some of which stood out for their design, comfort, or quality, but the Koharu Beni is just okay. It’s one saving grace is it’s flexible head, though it isn’t as elastic as a flexible head should be. It’ll get the job done, but when you’re looking for a vibrator, you want to get something indulgent and luxurious. You want freshly baked sourdough that crunches on the outside and is soft on the inside. You don’t want store brand white bread. This baby pink, battery-powered stick vibrator is the store brand white bread of vibrators.

Bellesa Stim: Petite, Precise & Powerful

Let’s be real—this is a budget-friendly toy. At just $20, it’s kind of a steal. And sure, you do get what you pay for, but in this case, what you get actually feels like it’s worth a lot more than the price tag. One standout feature? The travel case. As someone who’s constantly tossing things into a suitcase or a backpack, I really appreciate that I can throw this in without worrying it’ll get dusty or mysteriously fuzzy (you know the fuzz I’m talking about). That said, the toy doesn’t stay perfectly nestled in its little compartment—the main body and the ball head attachment tend to bounce around a bit. Is it annoying? A little. Is it a dealbreaker? Definitely not. Regarding vibrations, you’re getting five speeds and zero patterns—which is a win in my book. Each setting packs a punch, and as someone who’s pretty sensitive, I can say this toy really tests my limits (in a good way… mostly). It’s got more of a buzzy feel than a deep rumble, but when you switch out the attachments, it opens up some fun possibilities. Honestly? The more I use it, the more I like it. Would I recommend it as a first-ever toy? Maybe not the absolute best starter, but for the price, it’s one of the most solid intro options out there.

    Orgasm Accomplished: Pillow Talk Sassy

Pillow Talk Sassy feels like a personalized GPS for your G-spot. Until recently, I hadn't been introduced to flexible G-spot vibrators until recently, and I don’t think I can ever go back again. Sassy is generously sized, with an angled body. Not a curved body, angled. And it just gets the job done. This toy has convinced me that curved toys are for chumps. What we need is a targeted G-spot vibrator that knows exactly where it’s going and how it’s going to get there. The bottom of the toy has a single button, a small jewel—a Swarovski crystal—located in the center of the handle. It’s very easy to locate and use while playing. However, the controls are a little annoying. You can increase speed while in use, but to decrease it, you must turn the toy off and restart it at the lowest setting—a silly technical oversight by designers. Overall, mission accomplished.
