The Swan Sceptre feels royal. It’s massive—the head is the size of my palm. And the vibrations are out of this world. They call their most intense setting “Earthquake Mode,” you could definitely measure it on the Richter Scale. The silicone pad at the end somehow conducts the vibrations just perfectly, and the giggle of the silicone adds to the fun. The only downside is the quality doesn’t feel very high. I lament that these types of vibrating toys never have a way to track what setting you are on, and as far as I can tell, this toy does not. You are left to count and listen to the various noise patterns to determine which settings you are and find your favorites. For solo insertion, this toy seems too small to hold and the completely smooth shape means if you want to dip inside you better have practice with jade eggs and other Kegel-style “exercisers.” The force of the device seems to muddy where the toy impacts sensation more, on the hand or on the target. There is a technique, if you balance the vibrator like a top or a driedel, using only minimal pressure from one finger, that you can enjoy the toy solo without the heavy aftershocks in the hands. The size of this little guy leads me to explore if I can find new uses for it… So while it may not be practical and for immediate needs, it certainly inspires my creativity. With some stores offering this toy at $18 (Walmart), this toy provides more power and enjoyment than expected, I will probably save it for play at an unexpected unexpected place and time, not in the bedroom.
